Pole Vault Landing Pits
Built by a Coach
TetonVault is designing a landing pit from the ground up — engineered by Coach Dopp with real program needs in mind. Not a reseller. Not a catalog item. A pit built by a pole vaulter.

Limited Options
A handful of manufacturers dominate the market with little innovation. Most coaches buy whatever they can find rather than what their program actually needs.
Designed by Non-Vaulters
Most landing pits are spec'd by engineers, not coaches. The result is equipment that meets minimums on paper but misses practical details that only show up under real training conditions.
Prices That Don't Make Sense
Quality landing pits cost $8,000–$20,000 through traditional distribution channels. There's no reason a coach-direct product has to cost that much.
What We're Building
Coach Dopp is developing a landing pit designed around the real demands of high school and club programs — durable enough for daily training, safe enough for competition, and priced so that programs without big budgets can actually afford one.
Prototype testing is underway in Idaho Falls this summer. We're documenting everything — material choices, foam density, weather performance, and the details that matter in a real training environment.
- Competition-legal dimensions (NFHS & USATF compliant)
- High-density landing foam with outer protective cover
- Designed for both indoor and outdoor use
- Direct from manufacturer — no distributor markup
- Built and tested in Idaho Falls, ID

Built by Someone Who Uses One Every Day
Coach Dillon Dopp is the head pole vault coach at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls, ID — and has been coaching and competing in the sport for over a decade. He knows what a landing pit goes through during a full season of daily training, and he's building this product because he's used every major brand and knows where they fall short.
TetonVault already sells poles from UST-ESSX, Gill/Pacer, FiberSport, and RockBack to athletes and programs nationwide. The pit is the next step in building the sport's best direct-to-program equipment source.
