If you’ve been following east Idaho pole vault for a while, you might know the program as East Idaho Pole Vault Academy — the club Coach Dopp and his wife founded after moving back to east Idaho following his time vaulting and competing in the decathlon at Southern Utah University.

That program still exists. The coaching is the same. The athletes are the same. The mission — giving east Idaho athletes year-round pole vault access — is the same.

The name has changed. East Idaho Pole Vault Academy is now Teton Vault Club, operating under the TetonVault brand.

Why the Rebrand?

The short version: the old name didn’t match what the program had grown into.

“East Idaho Pole Vault Academy” was a name that made sense when the club was a small local operation. But as the program expanded — more athletes, online coaching, equipment sales, events — it made more sense to bring everything under one roof. TetonVault is the umbrella brand now: coaching, equipment, club, and eventually the landing pits we’re developing.

Teton Vault Club is the coaching and athlete development arm of TetonVault. The website is tetonvaultco.com — same place you’d shop for poles or book a private session.

What’s the Same

Everything about the coaching is unchanged:

  • Same coach. Coach Dillon Dopp is still head pole vault coach at Thunder Ridge High School and still running the club personally. This isn’t a franchise or a program that’s been handed off.
  • Same focus on fundamentals. The club’s approach hasn’t changed — build grip, carry, approach consistency, and plant mechanics before chasing height.
  • Same commitment to small groups. Athlete groups are still capped at 15 so every athlete gets real coaching attention, not just organized practice time.
  • Same athletes welcome. All grades, all experience levels. The club has always been open to athletes who’ve never touched a pole, and that’s still true.

What’s New for 2026

A few things have changed or expanded:

Year-round structure. The club now runs more deliberately year-round with clearer training blocks. Offseason work (technique and strength) and in-season work (competition prep and refinement) are better organized than they were under the old Academy structure.

High school athletes included. The club has always coached youth athletes, but 2026 has a more explicit focus on high school vaulters from Thunder Ridge, Idaho Falls HS, Skyline, Hillcrest, and Bonneville who want more training volume than their school programs provide. If you’re a high school vaulter in east Idaho and you only vault during track season, you’re leaving a lot of development on the table.

Summer Series connection. The Summer Series 2026 is the club’s dedicated summer program — three months of structured group training in Idaho Falls, June through August. It’s the easiest entry point for athletes who want to try the club before committing to year-round.

Equipment access. Club members get direct access to pole selection guidance and discounts on poles through TetonVault’s shop. This matters more than it might sound — pole selection is a safety and performance issue, and most athletes are vaulting on the wrong equipment.

Who Should Join

Athletes in grades 5–12 in east Idaho who want more coaching than their school program provides. This includes:

  • Middle school athletes who want a head start before high school
  • High school athletes competing for Thunder Ridge, IFHS, Skyline, Hillcrest, or Bonneville who want offseason development
  • Athletes who are new to pole vault entirely and want to learn it correctly from the beginning
  • Competitive athletes targeting USATF Junior Olympic qualifiers or state championships

How to Join

The club has limited spots — group sizes are capped at 15 to keep coaching quality high. You can reserve a spot here — no payment required upfront, just your contact info and your athlete’s grade and experience level. Coach Dopp will follow up with scheduling details.

If your athlete is interested in the summer specifically, the Summer Series page has full details on the June–August program, pricing, and registration.
